William Carvalho

Im in on this one if it has any truth to it, if there is one area we seem a bit lacking its a DM and if we get this fella, then what a window!!!!!
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4775762/West-Ham-prepare-25m-bid-midfielder-William-Carvalho.html
West Ham United are launching a £25million bid for Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho. The 25-year-old Portugal international has been a target for several Premier League clubs over the past four seasons but Sporting have always proved notoriously difficult to negotiate with, and have demanded a price closer to his release clause which is understood to be £39.5million. That has naturally made West Ham wary but they are hopeful they can broker a compromise involving Carvalho's new agent Pere Guardiola, brother of Manchester City boss Pep.

Who wouldn't be, this position should be our priority and is obviously the player Mr. Wendel mentioned the other day.

Excuse me Mr Poopy Guardiola, I have Arsenal, Spurs , Everton, Chelsea and 8 other clubs on the line asking if it's true that you can get William Carvalho out of Sporting Lisbon for £25m? Saying they read it in the Daily Mail.

He has told Sporting he wants out but Juventus are (apparantly) interested.
You never know his wife may have an insatiable desire to live in Docklands.

Some players want to play and want to play in the Premier league especially. Players who reckon they should be playing for Man U etc should realise that joining another Premier league club and doing well is probably the best path. If there is a Mrs Carvalho who is being asked I am sure she would prefer London over Turin which is a shithole.

Alternatively his agents brother might want to see him play regularly for a season in the Prem at a non threatening club, before wheeling him in as YaYa's successor
Love a conspiracy theory me

More likely window dressing by either agents or clubs - plenty of those in the running
Would be a real step forward though if true and closed

Ex confirms there is interest but both clubs are far apart in the valuation of the player (shock)
Would seem an improvement on Nord, with Kouyate out its definatley an area we need reinforcements in

If the bloke has a release at £39.5m then £25m is unlikely to secure him
Now I recall vividly how Bilic went from the iconic, effervescent table climber at the Euros to a beaten man in a matter of three weeks and then unprompted, told the press that if an aspiring club wants to sign elite players then it is difficult but can be done - by paying that required to all parties and moving fast, very fast, lest you alert others by the indecision of horse trading
Interesting how that verbal release related to the current and subsequent transfer negociations
Will be more interesting to see how we play this one, empty posturing? Genuine attempt? And at what point will Sullivan's ego kick in and he make a statement that he is serious?

Of all the positions, I never see DM as one worthy of splashing the cash. Give me a cheap Kovac any day, and spunk the money on an attacking player.

Kante is worth his weight in gold to Chelsea, as he was to Leicester. I dare say he would have been worth blowing everything we paid for Calleri, Tore, Fletcher and Feghouli to secure hsi signature.
Hindsight, I know, but just trying to say that the DM position is as important as any other and worth spending big if the right quality player is available and willing to negotiate.

Kante has been player of the year the last two seasons and won the league for his team. Real Madrids return to dominance is because Zidane was smart enough to know that all those attacking players need someone like Casemiro to get the ball for them. We spent most of last season chasing shadows and being walked through because Obiang was trying to hold the middle of the park together by himself.

I didn't realise we needed another defensive midfielder? After Obiang had such a great season, we've got the return to form of the young Patrick Vieira once his injury clears up?
Or are we all admitting that Kouyate is not good enough?

There have been rumours of Kouyate going to France on twatter recently.... maybe there is truth in that with Carvalho coming in?
